Ugly Duck Call
I was doing a clean up in the workshop and was about to throw this piece of Gorse in the firewood basket. As I held it in my had I thought since it was already stabilised maybe I shouldn't sacrifice it to the fire god and let it live.
It was such an ugly piece with deep cavities and bark inclusions but somehow at the same time it had beauty.
After casting in Liquid Diamonds resin on to the lathe it went and now its a Ugly Duck call.
Like all my other Duck Calls it has my hand finished Rata sound board which sounds fantastic and my signature genuine New Zealand Penny band.
